How To Write A Good Hub

I do not claim that I know everything about hubpages because I do not.No matter who you are, there is always something new to learn. What I can tell you is some things that I think are very important when it comes to writing a good hub. No matter who you are, you will always have some really good hubs and then you are going to have ones that are not so good, but still are halfway decent.

Let me tell you something. Before coming to Hubpages, I was and am still on Squidoo so I really do know a thing or two about creating a good hub. I was taught over there about creating a quality lens and I can take that information and apply it to my hubs. Both sites are not alike.

Intro Picture

I always put in an intro picture on my hubs. I always set the picture to half quarter or full width. Any hub that does not have an intro picture really does drive me nuts. When you go to a hubbers profile, what you find is a whole bunch of hubs that have the writer's profile avatar. I would rather find a hub with a distinct picture that stands out and say read me, read me. Its like blah without it. To me, it seems like you really don't care if you get your reader's attention or not.

Find Relevent Videos

Not all hubs will have videos, but they are nice to have if you can find the right video.

Write About What You Know

Writing about what you know or are passionate about.  If you write about something that does not interest  you, your writers will know.  When you write about your topic, write as much as you can about the said topic.  if its a really big topic that can be divided up, then divide it up into multiple hubs and then link them together.

Thanx for posting on my profile. You have some helpful tips here and I apprecaite your time. Question for you: Are there good sites that I can get photos from that wont be a problem with the copywrite rules here on hubpages? I have some of my own, but some topics I will need to find pictures for.

Most people do search for images on google which is technically not the right way to go about it. Still most people do.

You can do a google search for free graphics.

grsites.com is a site I like when it comes to graphics.

Here is another one I had found that may start you in the right direction: http://www.thefreesite.com/Free_Graphics

When I can, I try to create my own graphics.
