Free E-Mail

When we all first found the internet, it was never long before you find the free email services. The internet is a big place and there are plenty of places to look to find the best service for you.

Here, I will try to cover the different email services out there.  Some you may have heard of and yet others, you may not realized that existed. 

Hotmail is MSN or Microsoft. I have used hotmail for eleven years and have seen how its changed over the years. In the early years I think I was more reliable than it is these days. I still have my account, but I hardly even use it because of the unreliability it is. If I know I am going to get spam, it goes to that account. Anything that is important to me, goes to my own website email address.

The main reason why I say that it is unreliable is that there are emails that mysteriously don't come. My friends and I have had this problem of not receiving emails. Yes you may say to check your spam folder and yes we do and still the email are not get there. An example is when one of my friends signed up for gather and he never received his activation code from them and he did check his spam folder.

If you got important email, you are best to get one that you pay for. Don't go with hotmail if you are expecting any very important emails.

The only thing that I do like is that if you have the instant messenger and am signed in, it will tell you that you have email. Otherwise I will not refer anyone to hotmail. I used to love it in its early days, but not anymore.

I've had this one just as long as my hotmail email account. I really have not had much problems with this service at all. The only problem I have ever had is gettting a hold of them with a problem I have. Customer service is like non existing.

I had someone get into my email account when I was away at school and someone had changed my password on me and I have never ever been able to get that back even with the password retrieval system they send to my other email account.

I have never had problems getting email like I do with hotmail. Even though they have changed over the years. Like hotmail, they have changed the look and feel of the service. If I were to suggest an email account, this is one free email service that I would suggest to anyone.

Gmail is another free email service out there. I have not had any problems with the service yet and I have been using it for a while now.  As far as I can tell, I have never lost any email.  I get spam like any other email service but at least it does have a spam folder.  I also access my email through thunderbird.

In my early years of being on the internet, I had tried their email.  It also had free webhosting.  Its a decent service.  It is decent, but I did not use it to much.

This I had used in my early years.  When setting it up, you get to choose what domain name you want to use with it.  There are quite a few to choose from.
